Creating Space for a Healthier Forest

Today’s project involved the removal of two trees as part of a larger effort to improve the health and longevity of the surrounding stand. In this case, we were creating gaps around mature trees that had been competing with dead and declining ash trees.

When invasive pests and disease take hold, ash trees can deteriorate quickly, becoming brittle and hazardous. By selectively removing problem trees, we can open up the canopy, reduce competition for sunlight and nutrients, and give healthy trees the room they need to thrive.

Not every tree removal is about taking a tree down. Sometimes it’s about improving the health of everything left standing.

From climbing and rigging to precision cuts and clean-up, our crew worked safely and efficiently to complete the job while protecting the surrounding landscape.
